Dreams Are Wonderful, but Improved Realities Are Priceless

Myford University Dreams into Reality

We all dream.

Whether it’s while sleeping or during the day, staring off into the distance, we all have those moments where our mind drifts and paints a picture of a different life—one filled with possibility, freedom, money, health, love, success, or all of the above.

And while dreams can be a source of inspiration, escape, and even joy, the truth is this: dreams are not reality.

They’re just visions. Flickers of what could be.

I’ll give you an example.

When I was a kid, I had this recurring dream that I was floating—flying really—about 30 to 50 feet above my childhood neighborhood. It was quiet, peaceful, and almost magical. I could see the world from above, and everything looked different from that higher vantage point. There was no fear, no pressure. Just observation. Curiosity.

But when I woke up?

Nothing had changed.

I was still a kid. Still in my room. Still living the same life.

Dreams—unless acted on—are entertainment. Improved realities, on the other hand, are priceless. They’re the payoff. They’re what happens when you stop watching your life like a movie and start directing it.

At Myford University, that’s what we’re all about. Not just dreaming bigger—but living better. Not just wishing for more—but becoming more. And yes, while some dream-states are impossible in this universe (you’re probably not going to become a Jedi knight or breathe underwater without gear), many dreams—especially the ones involving success, money, freedom, fulfillment—are entirely possible.

But only if you’re willing to change.

Only if you’re willing to move.

What’s This Article Really About?

This article is about building better realities—on purpose, with intention, and with tools that work. It’s about a 10-step approach to get from where you are now to where you want to be. You may not know exactly how yet, and that’s okay. Clarity often comes from movement, not meditation. From effort, not endless planning.

By the end of this article, you’ll have a roadmap you can use again and again, every time you’re ready to level up your life.

Let’s get into it.

Step 1: Think About Your Dreams

What do you really want—and why?

What:
Before you build a better life, you have to define what “better” looks like. Don’t just say “more money” or “less stress.” Go deeper. What are your actual dreams? What’s that picture in your head?

Why:
You can’t hit a target you haven’t identified. Dreams, when clarified, become direction. They’re not silly. They’re signposts.

Who:
This part is 100% on you. You can’t outsource dreaming. It’s your life.

When and Where:
Do this often, and do it in quiet moments—on walks, in a journal, while driving, wherever clarity strikes.

How:
Try this: write down 5 dreams—big, small, crazy, practical—just get them on paper. Start there.

Step 2: Assess Your Current Situation

Where are you really starting from?

What:
Take an honest, no-BS look at your life. Financially, emotionally, professionally, physically. Where are you today?

Why:
You can’t build a bridge to a dream without knowing your starting point. This is your baseline.

Who:
Get feedback if needed—from trusted friends, mentors, or coaches—but don’t sugarcoat it.

When and Where:
This should come right after you define your dreams. Do it in a place where you can be brutally honest with yourself.

How:
Try a “Life Audit.” Rate yourself from 1–10 in these areas: Money, Health, Relationships, Career, Skills, and Confidence. Write a sentence on why you gave each score.

Step 3: Determine Gaps or Shortfalls

What’s missing between the dream and the reality?

What:
Now that you know where you are and where you want to go, figure out what’s standing in the way. Skills? Connections? Mindset? Resources?

Why:
Identifying the gap gives you the blueprint. The pain isn’t in having a gap—it’s in not knowing you have one.

Who:
You’ll likely need mentors or coaches here—people who’ve done what you want to do.

When and Where:
Do this once you’ve completed the audit. Bonus points for putting it into a simple “From → To” chart.

How:
List your dream, then list what someone would need to make it real. Compare that list to what you’ve got. That’s your gap.

Step 4: Plan an Improvement Plan

How are you going to close the gap?

What:
This is your action plan. Not a fantasy. A plan. With dates. Deadlines. Priorities.

Why:
Hope is not a strategy. Dreams without a plan are distractions. But with a plan? They’re fuel.

Who:
You may need teachers, online courses, books, certifications, apprenticeships, or community support.

When and Where:
Now. Wherever you’re reading this—start sketching a plan today.

How:
Use this format:

  • Goal: What are you trying to do?
  • Action: What will you do to achieve it?
  • Deadline: By when?
  • Support: Who or what can help?

Step 5: TAKE MASSIVE ACTION

Stop planning. Start moving.

What:
This is the moment you go from dreamer to doer.

Why:
Plans are worthless without action. Dreams remain daydreams until motion is applied.

Who:
You. And only you. Nobody is coming to do the work for you.

When and Where:
Immediately. Action is not about convenience—it’s about commitment.

How:
Don’t wait to feel “ready.” Pick the first task on your plan and do it. Build momentum fast.

Step 6: Reassess and Pivot if Necessary – Iterate

What’s working? What’s not? Adjust.

What:
Once you’ve started, you’ll hit roadblocks. Expect them. Reassess your plan, tweak it, and keep going.

Why:
Flexibility beats rigidity. You’re not a failure for pivoting—you’re a strategist.

Who:
Bring in feedback from experience, mentors, or your own results.

When and Where:
Every few weeks. Set a recurring “Strategy Session” with yourself.

How:
Ask:

  • What did I expect to happen?
  • What actually happened?
  • What will I change going forward?

Step 7: Rack Up Small Wins and Push for Bigger Wins

Build confidence by stacking victories.

What:
Momentum is everything. Start small, win early, build fast.

Why:
Success is a habit. And it builds belief.

Who:
Share your wins with a small, trusted group who will encourage you—not envy you.

When and Where:
Immediately and ongoing.

How:
Track your wins. Literally. A whiteboard. A notebook. An app. See your progress. Celebrate it.

Step 8: Achieve Your Dreams

Cross the finish line—and recognize it.

What:
You made the dream real. You did it.

Why:
Acknowledging success matters. You need closure and confidence before moving to the next dream.

Who:
You. And anyone who helped you along the way.

When and Where:
When the goal is hit. Don’t downplay it. Recognize it.

How:
Reward yourself. Reflect. Share the story. Inspire others.

Step 9: Enjoy It, But Don’t Get Too Comfortable

Success can make you soft if you’re not careful.

What:
Enjoy the rewards—but don’t lose the edge.

Why:
Comfort kills ambition. You didn’t come this far just to coast.

Who:
You—and your future self. Keep the fire lit.

When and Where:
This happens right after a big win. Be mindful of “settling.”

How:
Set a new vision. Start the next chapter.

Step 10: Rinse and Repeat

This isn’t a one-time thing. It’s a life strategy.

What:
You’ve now got a system. Use it again. And again.

Why:
Success is not a destination—it’s a cycle.

Who:
Anyone with dreams worth chasing. That includes you.

When and Where:
Every time you want to level up—personally or professionally.

How:
Go back to Step 1. Dream bigger. And go again.

Final Thoughts

While I can point out the path, I can’t walk it for you.

I can offer guidance, tools, encouragement, and maybe a kick in the ass when needed—but you’ve got to take the steps. Fortunately, this isn’t a blind leap. It’s a repeatable process that can turn daydreams into data-backed reality.

This is why I built Myford University.

To help people like you take ownership of your development—on your terms, at your pace, using real-world skills and strategies that actually work. Not fluff. Not outdated theory. Just smart, rapid, applied learning and action.

The truth is: I don’t believe in perfect. I believe in better.

When you get better, your life gets better. And when your life gets better, your dreams move closer.

So let’s stop dreaming with our eyes closed and start living with our eyes open.

Let’s turn dreams into decisions.

And decisions into results.

Let’s go.
